The 2026 Primary Election determined several candidates who will advance to the November General Election for offices representing Huntington residents in Washington and Albany. In New York’s 3rd Congressional District, incumbent Congressman Thomas Suozzi retained the Democratic nomination, while Republican voters selected Michael J. LiPetri Jr. as their nominee for the November contest. In New York’s 1st Congressional District, Christopher J. Gallant secured the Democratic nomination and will challenge incumbent Congressman Nick LaLota in November. Democratic voters also selected incumbent New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli to represent the party in November, defeating two challengers in the primary election. The results below are unofficial and will be updated as certified election results become available.

Danielle Welch (Democratic): 440 votes = 26.91%

Michael J LiPetri Jr (Republican): 389 votes = 76.57% ~ WINNER*
Greg Hach (Republican): 111 votes = 21.85%
Write-In: 8 votes = 1.57%

Christopher J Gallant (Democratic): 12,132 votes = 62.89% ~ WINNER*
Luka Ventouras (Democratic): 7,130 votes = 36.96%
Write-In: 30 votes = 0.16%
New York State Comptroller
Thomas P DiNapoli (Democratic – Incumbent): 21,675 votes = 75.85% ~ WINNER*
Drew Warshaw (Democratic): 4,077 votes = 14.27%
Raj Goyle (Democratic): 2,777 votes = 9.73%
Write-In: 44 votes = 0.15%
