HUNTINGTON, NY – As global water temperatures rise, the frequency and severity of storms increases. The next big hurricane is not a matter of if, but when. The Town of Huntington is actively coordinating between town, county, and utility officials to prepare for 2025 peak hurricane season.

The Town will share what they are doing right now to ensure swift and effective action in the event of a hurricane or major storm, as well as encourage preparations on the part of residents to ensure their safety and well-being. All the best minds the Town has to offer will speak on their areas of expertise. A representative from the National Weather Service will give a scientific perspective on hurricanes. A representative from Suffolk County Police Department 2nd Precinct will speak on their role during and after a storm in coordination with the Town and Public Safety.
