HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – February 3, 2026
Inspector Markus Rivera, Suffolk County Police Department 2nd Precinct, led the February 2026 community meeting at South Huntington Public Library in Huntington Station.
Police reviewed January crime statistics, arrests, violent incidents across the precinct, business enforcement, a fatal crash, ShotSpotter activations, scam prevention reminders, and upcoming community events.

Crime Statistics
Police reported 0 murders in January. The precinct recorded 3 robberies, 8 aggravated assaults, 2 residential burglaries, 2 commercial burglaries, 86 larcenies, and 6 vehicle thefts.
Year-to-date, robbery increased from 1 to 3, assault increased from 7 to 8, commercial burglary increased from 1 to 2, while larceny dropped from 99 to 86 and vehicle theft dropped from 8 to 6. Residential burglary remained even at 2.
Arrests Breakdown
Police reported 139 total arrests in January, including 14 felony arrests, 84 misdemeanor arrests, 3 assault arrests, 5 gang member arrests, 32 drug-related arrests, and 1 DWI arrest.
Incidents of Note Across the Precinct
- Brothers Deli, 243 Broadway, Greenlawn – Assault 2nd Degree arrest. Police said a victim was stabbed in the neck with a kitchen knife taken from the counter, causing a non-life-threatening injury. ARREST MADE.
- El Cuscatleco, 137 Broadway, Huntington Station – Assault 2nd Degree. Police said the victim was attacked after exiting the bathroom area, struck in the head and face with an unknown object, and suffered a fractured nose and lacerations. The victim was transported to Huntington Hospital.
- 167 E. Shore Road, Huntington Bay – Robbery 1st / Assault arrest. Police said the victim was followed and rear-ended, escalating into an assault. The suspects allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle before being detained nearby.
- 170 Eatons Neck Road, Eatons Neck – Burglary 2nd Degree. Police said the homeowner returned to find a broken window, rear doors open, and the home ransacked. A monitor was reported stolen, with additional items later recovered nearby.
Massage / Spa Enforcement – Huntington Station and Greenlawn
Hermosa Foot Spa, 740 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station: 2 employees arrested – Unauthorized Practice of a Profession (E Felony), 8 combined violations issued.
Business at 608 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station: 2 employees arrested – Unauthorized Practice of a Profession (E Felony) and Prostitution (B Misdemeanor), 5 combined violations issued.
State Liquor Authority (SLA) and Business Enforcement
Three Stars Bar, 118 West Hills Road, Huntington Station: Owner arrested – Criminal Possession of a Weapon (4th Degree) after police located a billy club inside the establishment, 5 combined fire and building violations issued, 3 SLA violations issued.
McKeown’s Pub, 1 Clinton Avenue, Huntington: 2 bartenders arrested – Unlawfully Dealing with a Child (1st Degree) after underage agents were served alcohol, 4 combined fire/building violations issued, 5 ABC Law violations issued.
Instant Replay Sports Bar, 282 E. Jericho Turnpike, South Huntington: Manager cited for 2 SLA violations, Fire Marshal issued 2 additional violations, follow-up investigation continuing.
Traffic Enforcement – S.I.T.E. Team
SCPD Highway Bureau Suffolk Intensified Traffic Enforcement Team conducted additional enforcement in the 2nd Precinct during January.
A total of 116 summonses were issued, including 98 moving violations and 18 non-moving violations.
Targeted roadways included Seaman Neck Road, Jericho Turnpike, Spring Road, Vanderbilt Parkway, Bagatelle Road, and New York Avenue / Route 110.
Fatal Accident – East Northport
Larkfield Road, East Northport – Police reported 1 fatal accident in January. An 81-year-old pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle while crossing the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
ShotSpotter Activations – Huntington Station
Police reported 7 ShotSpotter activations in Huntington Station during January, all of which resulted in negative findings after canvass. In some cases, fireworks were reported or suspected.
Scam and Crime Prevention Reminders
Police highlighted ongoing scam activity impacting residents.
Residents were advised:
- Never share personal or financial information from an unexpected call, text, or email
- Verify suspicious calls by contacting a trusted number directly
- Do not click unknown links or call unfamiliar numbers
- Scammers often create urgency – slow down and verify before acting
- Never send money or make payments based on unsolicited requests
Common scams reported include individuals posing as law enforcement requesting bail money and callers claiming to be from a bank fraud department instructing victims to move money.
