Poetry in the Garden Workshop

Join Jesse Curran, Long Island Poet of the Year 2025, for an engaging poetry workshop exploring the rich tradition of poetry inspired by gardens, vegetables, and the natural world.

Participants will draw inspiration from the bounty of summer while learning about the enduring relationship between food, labor, ecology, and the poetic imagination. Jesse Curran is a mother, teacher, poet, essayist, scholar, art lover, Long Islander, yoga educator, and gardener/environmental humanist.

She teaches poetry at SUNY Old Westbury and brings a thoughtful, welcoming approach to writers of all experience levels.
