John Coltrane at 100: The Coltrane Legacy – Free

The John & Alice Coltrane Home will celebrate John Coltrane’s centennial birthday with “John Coltrane at 100: The Coltrane Legacy,” a two-part series of free programs exploring the enduring influence of one of America’s most important musical artists and celebrating the Coltrane history and legacy on Long Island. 

The first program, presented by The Coltrane Home and Jazz Connections, will feature an evening of music and discussion with saxophonist Sam Dillon and his quartet.

Saxophonist, composer and educator Jeff Lederer will discuss Coltrane’s musical innovations, spirituality, Long Island history and continuing cultural impact. A reception with the musicians will follow the program.
