The Secret Life of Toys at EXTRAVACON!

What if your favorite toys were more than just toys?

Join toy experts Jonathan Alexandratos and Matt Kaplowitz for a fascinating look at the memories, stories, and history behind the toys that helped shape our childhoods.

When we were kids, our action figures and toys were more than just playthings. They helped develop our minds and imaginations, allowed us to tell stories, connect with others, and navigate difficult experiences.

As adults, our relationships with these toys have changed. Whether collecting for nostalgia, purchasing something we couldn’t have as children, or discovering high-end collectibles, the true value of toys goes far beyond their price tags.

Join Jonathan Alexandratos (The Toys That Made Us, Billion Dollar Babies: The True Story of the Cabbage Patch Kids) and Matt Kaplowitz (Trek Untold, Nerd News Today) as they explore fascinating examples of toys that changed the world.

The presentation will take guests behind the scenes of the toymaking process and feature personal favorites and one-of-a-kind rarities from the speakers’ collections.

This special presentation is part of EXTRAVACON!, a two-day event celebrating collectibles and pop culture.
