HUNTINGTON, NY | October 18, 2026
Sunday, October 18, was a special day in Huntington Village as the community came together for two celebrations on Union Place.
The afternoon began at the corner of Union Place and Wall Street with a street dedication honoring Andrea and Luisa Sorrentino. Hosted by Councilwoman Theresa Mari and the Town of Huntington, the ceremony dedicated Union Place as “Sorrentino Way” in recognition of the couple’s lives and lasting legacy.
Andrea and Luisa Sorrentino were remembered for their devotion to family, hard work and community, qualities that helped make their story an enduring part of Huntington’s history.
Following the dedication, the Sorrentino Family Foundation presented the First Annual Huntington Italian Festival & Block Party, transforming Union Place into a celebration of Italian heritage and community spirit.
The festivities featured live music, dancing, Italian food, drinks and family-friendly activities, bringing neighbors together for an afternoon and evening of fun.
Huntington Matters captured the day’s celebrations in photos and live video, from the Sorrentino Way street dedication to the inaugural Huntington Italian Festival. Watch the recording below and enjoy our photos from both events.
