Man Seriously Injured in Restaurant E-Bike Crash in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, NY – Issued August 5, 2026

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an e-bike crash that seriously injured a man in Huntington today.

Osiris Shepherd was operating a 2025 Talaria e-bike in a parking lot when he lost control of the e-bike and hit a curb, causing him to eject from the vehicle and shatter the window of a storefront [Restaurant Joanina], located at 35a Gerard St., at approximately 2:20 p.m.

Shepherd, 23, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The e-bike was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
