Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for killing his grandmother’s fiancé in East Northport on March 29, 2026.
Suffolk County Police responded to a 911 call regarding a stabbing that occurred inside a trailer, parked in the driveway of 8 Catherine St., at 3:42 a.m. Joseph Falvo had been stabbed several times in the living room of the trailer by his fiancée’s grandson Noel Bermudez-Chin.
Falvo, 61, of 8 Catherine St., East Northport, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Bermudez-Chin was located on Laurel Hill Road in Northport a short time later. Bermudez-Chin, 18, of 8 Catherine St., East Northport, was charged with Murder 2nd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 30.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
