School’s Out! Art’s In! Summer Workshops for Kids Workshop I: We All Scream for Ice Cream! Sculptures

Young artists will imagine and design their own larger-than-life ice cream sculptures. Grades 2-5.

Attendees will build armatures and paint their own delicious three-dimensional masterpieces! This fun project encourages learning about Pop Art, scale, observational skills, and basic 3-D construction skills. (Workshop fee includes ice cream from the ice cream truck in Heckscher Park on Monday, August 24. If the weather is inclement, it will be changed to Tuesday.)

Children are invited to explore works of art on display in the Museum and then create original works of art inspired by what they see. Participants will be given individual attention and work in a variety of media and techniques. Projects will be brought home at the end of the second day of each workshop. A new Workshop will also be held August 26-27th.

Bring a snack and water bottle. Registration required. Space is limited.
