Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test

FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System to help ensure the system is ready to provide timely information during emergencies.

The test will air on radio and television only and will not be sent to mobile phones.
Federal law requires FEMA to conduct a nationwide EAS test at least once every three years. Routine tests help ensure the alert system is ready to provide timely information when it matters most.
Following the test, FEMA and its partners will review the results and identify opportunities to strengthen future alerting capabilities.
This is only a test. No action is required by the public.
