Help support local families in need by donating nonperishable food, household essentials, personal care items, baby supplies, and pet food during PSEG Long Island’s sixth annual Power to Feed Long Island food drive.
PSEG Long Island’s sixth annual Power to Feed Long Island food drive is returning to East Northport in partnership with Island Harvest to help local families facing food insecurity.
Community members are encouraged to stop by and donate nonperishable food, household essentials, personal care products, baby supplies, and pet food. A convenient drive-through donation option will be available, and everyone making a donation will receive free LED light bulbs and reusable shopping bags while supplies last.
During the summer months, donations to local food pantries typically decline while the need continues to grow. Information about PSEG Long Island’s customer financial assistance programs will also be available at the event.
Suggested donations include healthy canned foods (please avoid glass jars), rice, pasta, canned tuna and chicken, nut butters, cooking oils, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, toothpaste, shampoo, diapers, baby formula, pet food, and kitty litter. Monetary donations are also welcome, with Island Harvest estimating that every dollar donated provides the equivalent of two meals.
