HOLBROOK, NY – Issued August 5, 2026
Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs following a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Holbrook.
Robert Krumm was operating a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Nicolls Road, between Greenbelt Parkway and Route 27, when he collided with a southbound 2023 Tesla at approximately 11:15 p.m.
Krumm, 24, of Holtsville, was transported to Stonybrook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Tesla, Bertie Simeon, was not injured.
Simeon, 37, of 2504 Townhome Way, Huntington Station, was arrested and charged with DWAI/Drugs. He will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 5.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
