The moon shone brightly over the Chapin Rainbow Stage at Heckscher Park on Prime Avenue in Huntington last night. Yet, the talented cast of Plaza Theatrical Productions were the stars of the evening. The talented ensemble belted out 33 of the best tunes ever to be heard on Broadway. Over 100 spectators lined the gentle grass slope to take in “Standing Ovation, Celebrating Musical Theater” and were not disappointed. The stars Chris, Kim, and Noelle Dufrenoy and Joanna Sanges Matheny with Patrick McCowan and Alan Kingsley sang fan favorites, such as “Your Got Trouble” from The Music Man, “Luck Be A Lady” from Guys and Dolls, and “Life is a Cabaret” from Cabaret. Warm applause and smiles were everywhere. Entire families sat in their lawn chairs mouthing the words before clapping in raucous applause. Kudos to everyone bringing a fun time to our Town.
The Annual FREE Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park hosts different performances 5 nights a week until August 24, 2025! Check the Huntington Matters Community Calendar for all of the details including additional FREE performances in areas of the town.
