Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured an e-bike operator in Huntington Wednesday, April 14, 2026.
A 15-year-old East Northport boy was operating a Jasion E-bike northbound on Broadway when he entered the intersection at Little Plains Road and was struck by a Type-A school minibus traveling westbound on Little Plains Road at 4:48 p.m.
The teen, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with critical injuries.
The operator of the minibus, Santa Cabrera-Toribio, 46, of Brentwood, and one passenger, a school matron, were uninjured.
The E-bike was impounded for a safety check. Motor Carrier Safety Section officers performed a safety check of the minibus at the scene.
