Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested two people for robbing the Chase Bank in Commack on August 14.
Randy Hill, 48, of Bohemia, and Donna Hovanec, 45, of Bohemia, were both charged with Robbery 3rd Degree.
In addition to the Chase Bank robbery, they were also charged with three counts each for Robbery 1st Degree for robbing the following businesses:
- Dollar Tree, located at 167 North Service Road, East Patchogue, on August 16
- Dollar Tree, located at 2044 Route 112, Medford, on August 22
- Starbucks, located at 4577 Sunrise Highway, Bohemia, on September 2
Additionally, they were charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree at Sunoco Dix Hills Tire and Auto, located at 765 Deer Park Road, on August 25.
Hill is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip. Hovanec will be arraigned at a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

UPDATED: Wanted for Commack Bank Robbery
COMMACK, NY – UPDATE Issued August 20, 2026
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify the man who robbed a Commack bank.
A man entered Chase Bank, located at 39 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, on August 14 at approximately 4:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Man Robs Commack Bank
Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a Commack bank on August 14th.
A man entered Chase Bank, located at 39 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, Commack, at approximately 4:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot.
The man is described as white, 5’5 to 5’ 8 inches tall. He was wearing a baseball cap, possibly with a camo pattern on it, sunglasses, a white dress shirt, black pants and black shoes.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Major Case at 631-852-6555 or Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
