The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Bagels & Business” event on Friday, October 3rd at Farmingdale State College. The breakfast event focused on one of the most essential skills for professionals – crafting the perfect elevator pitch.
Guests enjoyed bagels, coffee, and conversation before diving into a hands-on workshop led by Christina Loggia, Business Advisor at the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale State College and Jeannie Moon, Bestselling Author, Educator and Coach.
Christina and Jeannie shared real-world insights on how to introduce yourself and your business with confidence and clarity, emphasizing that an elevator pitch should be about telling, not selling. “It’s about curiosity, not closing,” Christina explained.

Participants learned to shape their message around who they serve, what makes them unique, and how they help solve a problem. Attendees worked in pairs using a guided workbook to develop their own 30-second pitches, focusing on being conversational, authentic, and adaptable.
The morning wrapped up with role-playing exercises, where members practiced sharing their new pitches with one another building confidence and connection along the way. Thank you, Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce for always having these great committee presentations for the businesses in Huntington!
