The leg lighting returns to The Firefly Artists in Northport Village, continuing a tradition that began in 2005! 

The leg lamp lighting ceremony includes: Holiday music, Dancing, and Unveiling and lighting the leg lamp.

The leg lamp lighting tradition in Northport, New York began in 2005 as a nod to the 1983 holiday movie A Christmas Story. The tradition started when brothers Billy and Jimmy Reichart discovered a replica of the leg lamp in the basement of their family’s hardware store. The lamp was put in the front window of the store and lit, and the event quickly became a popular annual tradition.
