Jazz at the Barn – Eric Miller Courageous Millers Band
Eric Miller’s Courageous Portals Band will be performing original compositions that mix elements of Jazz, Funk, Latin grooves and electronic soundscapes.
The title of the band comes from a Wayne Shorter quote; “I think that music opens portals and doorways into unknown sectors that it takes courage to leap into.” Wayne Shorter was one of Eric’s teachers at the Herbie Hancock Institute in Los Angeles.
Eric is an alum of Manhattan School of Music, the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, and Juilliard. He has performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis, the Mingus Big Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All Star Big Band, the Christian McBride Big Band, John Ellis, Jonathan Batiste, Michael Dease, Gordon Webster, Ulysses Owens Jr., Emilio Solla Tango Jazz Orchestra, Kyle Athayde Dance Party, Remy Le Boeuf’s Assembly of Shadows, and many others.
