Huntington Historical Society Apple Festival
Huntington Historical Society Apple Festival
The Huntington Historical Society’s most popular family event, the 2024 Apple Festival features a variety of fall festivities including traditional games, seasonal crafts, live music, and historical demonstrations by costumed interpreters. Visitors can dive into history by going on a tour of the 18th century Kissam House, or watch traditional folk artists like woodworkers and musicians demonstrate their craft. Children can try their hand at making their own like full-sized scarecrows or painting a pumpkin. There will also be numerous games, races, bubbles, and face painting! Delicious Long Island-grown apples will be sold by the bag along with other fall food favorites, such as candy apples, apple cider, and an assortment of baked goods from local bakeries.
The festival takes place on the grounds of the Kissam House, one of four national register historic properties maintained by the Society. The house, built in 1795 by Timothy Jarvis and first occupied by Dr. Daniel Whitehead Kissam and his family, will be open for tours. And don’t forget to stop into the Museum Shop with its many treasures, collectibles and antiques.
