HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – Issued May 20, 2026
Suffolk County Police today arrested a store employee for unlawful dissemination of an intimate image that occurred at a Huntington Station business in April.
A 36-year-old female reported that she visited Best Buy, located at 148 Walt Whitman Road, on April 17 at approximately 10 a.m. to resolve an issue with her cell phone and was assisted by an employee of the store, Kaelem Von Camper. After leaving, the victim received an airdrop notification that intimate photos were sent to an unknown number without her permission. Following an investigation, by Second Precinct Crime Unit officers, it was determined that the photos were sent to Von Camper’s phone.
Von Camper, 31, of Greenlawn, was arrested at the Second Precinct and charged with Unlawful Dissemination or Publication of an Intimate and Unauthorized use of a Computer, both misdemeanors. He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
Officers are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Von Camper to contact the Second Precinct Crime Unit at 631-854-8275.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
