DIX HILLS, NY – Issued April 3, 2026
Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured another driver in Dix Hills on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Wesley Sitar was driving a 2016 Dodge Ram eastbound on East Jericho Turnpike when his vehicle struck a 2010 Volkswagen that was attempting to turn left onto East Deer Park Road from westbound East Jericho Turnpike at approximately 2:20 a.m.
The driver of the Volkswagen, Maxx Waite, 21, of Oakdale, was transported to Huntington Hospital with serious injuries.
Sitar, 45, of 4 Audubon St., Nesconset, was also transported to Huntington Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Isip on April 4.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
