Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a three-vehicle crash that seriously injured a woman in West Hills this afternoon.
Richard Bello was driving a 2006 Cadillac eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he lost control of the vehicle near Brooks Avenue and veered into westbound traffic, striking a 2022 Honda CR-V being driven by Alisa Globuschutz head-on at 3:04 p.m. The Honda then struck 2018 Honda Accord that was also in the westbound lane.
Globuschutz, 69, of Huntington Station, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious physical injuries. Bello, 18, of West Hills, and a 17-year-old passenger in his vehicle were both transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither the driver of the Honda Accord, Shreya Rana, 21, of Huntington Station, or a 45-year-old passenger in the vehicle, were injured in the crash.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
