HUNTINGTON, NY – On Sunday, September 7, 2025 family members, friends, elected officials and community members gathered together for the Town of Huntington’s 23rd Annual 9/11 Anniversary Commemorative Service where we honored and remembered the 43 men and women from Huntington who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
The Color Guards lined the walls of the Huntington Town Board room while Supervisor Ed Smyth led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Louis DiLeo, from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Band, who sang The National Anthem.
The Invocation was given by Monsignor Steven Camp, from the Church of St. Patrick in Huntington, followed by the reading of the names of those lost. Each name was read, a bell rang, and a red rose was placed in their memory by the Veterans Advisory Board Members.
A moment of Silence was observed followed by Louis DiLeo who sang God Bless America and Brad Davidson from the Northport Pipe & Drum who played Amazing Grace. After the benediction, Taps was played and the Colors Retired.
