DESCRIPTION:Join us for this free community event celebrating the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)! \nThis gathering was created in collaboration with Heckscher Museum’s Accessibility Advisory Group and welcomes everyone.\nIt was created with and for the Deaf community, blind and low vision community, individuals with developmental disabilities, people who are neurodivergent, and people of all ages and abilities.\nEnjoy a vibrant selection of hands-on and interactive art activities and sensory experiences designed for all types of learners both inside the Museum and outside in beautiful Heckscher Park. Whether through touch, sight, sound, movement, or creative expression, there’s something meaningful for every participant to explore, create and connect.\nTouch items generously loaned by exhibiting artists Surprise art boxes created by artist Joan Kim Suzuki Objects from the collection of the Museum of Disability History. \nSpirit of Huntington Art Center’s Sensory Station: Meet and learn about the artwork of Deaf artist Charles Wildbank. \nGet inspired by the theme of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence …and more! \nFree!
