DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of art, food, and community at the Heckscher Museum of Art this summer! \nInspired by the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Museum’s 100th Anniversary of Eclipse of the Sun by George Grosz, this community dinner brings people from all walks of life together around a shared table for an open and welcoming conversation on shared experiences, art, civic life, and freedom under the summer stars.\nEach evening will feature cuisine from a different local restaurant, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy foods and flavors that reflect the many cultures and communities of Long Island. \nFriday, June 26, 2026, 5 – 8 pm\nCuisine: Kabul Afghan Restaurant\nFeatured Artists: Safia Fatimi, Michael Krasowitz, Giona Maiarelli, Pinky Urmaza, & Mark Van Wagner \nFriday, July 31, 2026, 5 – 8 pm\nCuisine: Brasas Peru Bistro Bar\nFeatured Artists: Efrat Baler, Jeremy Dennis, Diana Salomon, Adam Straus, & Christine Tudor \n\nFriday, August 28, 2026, 5 – 8 pm\nCuisine: T.O.A. Asian Fusion\nFeatured Artists: Luanda Lozano, Vanessa Powers, & Maria Spector \nThe Museum will also offer extended gallery hours, with select Just Powers: Long Island Biennial 2026 exhibiting artists in the galleries from 5 to 6 pm to speak with visitors near their artwork and share insights into their creative practices.\nFrom 6 to 8 pm, everyone is invited to gather for a community dinner outside the Museum. Seating and meals will be available while supplies last, and the evening will be offered as a pay-what-you-wish experience.
